How Meesho, Flipkart, Amazon, Snapdeal and AJIO labels differ

If you sell on more than one marketplace, you have probably noticed that no two label PDFs look alike. Each one puts the label, the tax invoice and the blank space in a different place, and each needs a different approach to turn it into a clean thermal label. Here is how they compare.

Meesho

Meesho prints on A4 and uses only the top half of the page. The shipping label sits at the top, the tax invoice follows below it, and then come a disclaimer and a lot of empty paper. The useful crop runs from the top of the label to just under the invoice "Total" row. That keeps the label and the invoice details and drops the rest.

Because the invoice band is kept, CropMyLabel shrinks it (to 70% by default, adjustable) so the address and barcode get more room. Exchange labels have no invoice, so they are cropped to the label alone. Labels are grouped by courier: Valmo, Delhivery, Shadowfax and Xpress Bees.

Flipkart

Flipkart (E-Kart) puts the label in a narrow box at the top of the page, followed by a dashed tear line and then the tax invoice. The crop runs in from the sides and down to the tear line, which removes about 85% of the page. The result is close to a 3x5 shape, so it fits 3x5 almost 1:1 and 4x6 at around 108%. With a single carrier, labels are grouped by registered seller and then SKU.

Amazon

Amazon is the odd one out. The label is a single picture on an A4 page with no text you can select, so nothing can be read from it directly. The SKU is instead read from the tax invoice pages that follow each label, where the description lists "ASIN ( SKU )".

The label is cut out to its own 4x6 picture at full size. Where the label has a blank band, the caption goes inside it. The ship date is read off the label picture using on-device OCR, and accepted only if the order id beside it also reads back correctly; otherwise the date is left out and the label is flagged. Labels sort by ship date and then SKU, colour and size, and you can keep each invoice behind its label. This works for Amazon Shipping, Delhivery and Speed Post labels.

Snapdeal

Snapdeal pages are landscape, with the label on the left and the invoice on the right. The cut runs down the widest blank column between them. The SKU printed on the label itself is fused together with hyphens removed, so CropMyLabel reads the SKU from the invoice half before throwing that half away. Parcels with more than one item are flagged with a note like "3 items on one label — check before packing". Labels are grouped by courier and then SKU.

AJIO

AJIO needs no cropping at all. It gives you two separate files: 4x6 labels and A4 invoices. The work here is matching each label to its invoice. CropMyLabel decodes the barcodes on each label on your device, and the AWB is whichever barcode value also appears in an invoice. Each label is then followed by its own invoice, including invoices that run to more than one page.

Any label or invoice without a match is flagged rather than guessed. Labels are sorted by courier and then routing code. The caption leaves out the size, because the AJIO SKU already includes it.

Mixed batches

If you download labels from several marketplaces at the end of the day, you do not need to process them one by one. The auto-detect tool accepts any mix of files and identifies each page from its own markings, then crops it the right way. Pages it cannot recognise are flagged and passed through whole, never cut to a guessed shape.
